2009 Geelong Cup Result
Leica Ding took the spoils for trainer Danny Weir in the 2009 renewal in fine style from Bart Cummings' Dandaan. The mare was sent off a 12/1 chance and now looks likely to sneak into the Melbourne Cup weights under penalty. Sterling Prince was third.

There was only one winner of the Geelong Cup in the last ten years who went on to win the Melbourne Cup, but there were three others who went on to place in the big race.
